We here at USDA California Farm Service Agency are looking for students who would like to have an exciting opportunity working for the USDA.
Pathways Student Internship
Authority is designed to provide students enrolled in a variety of educational institutions, from high school to graduate level, with paid work opportunities in agencies to explore federal careers while in school. Assignments are designed to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for successful performance of loan specialist work in developing, reviewing, administering, and coordinating programs for direct farmer producer participation.
There are multiple positions located around the state. Please share with your local partners and students.

NRCS recently opened its Pathways Internship and Recent Graduates positions on USA Jobs. We are working towards hiring thousands of new staff to help with the implementation of the Inflation Reduction Act. The Pathways Internship positions are available to students from high school up to the graduate school level. The Recent Graduates positions are available to students who apply within two years of receiving a degree or certificate of completion. Those who successfully complete the Pathways Internship or Recent Graduates Program can be eligible for non-competitive conversion to permanent, fulltime positions.
These programs provide a great opportunity for students and recent graduates to gain hands-on experience in natural resource management, and give NRCS the opportunity to see if they will be a good fit for our agency.
